Every year medical students across the U.S. simultaneously open envelopes that contain information on where they'll be doing their residency training after graduation. Stanford's soon-to-graduate class participated in this time-tested custom on March 16.

Sure it would've been nice to get a 4-year full ride to one of my ranked universities; however, this is a wake-up call. It is a wake up call for me to work even more harder than I ever was before. Sure, it's going to be hard. Sure, there's going to be adversity. Sure, there's going to be people who don't believe in you. You've got to look past it in order to succeed. Make yourself happy. If you've never faced rejection, you've never reached far enough. At least I get a second chance in applying for Regular Decision.
